Major collisions are when there are injuries, and the vehicles may not be driven:
- Report the accident to “Roadside emergency assistance” at 322-1080 (My clients). Request an ambulance or towing service if needed. Call Transito 104 or 511-9320.
- Take pics before moving the vehicles and request cedula, drivers license info of affected parties (Take a pic with your phone). When the insurance company inspector arrives at the scene, present your driver’s license, policy, and auto registration. Do not leave the crash site without the police and insurance representative documenting the accident. “Colision t Fuga” is a serious crime.
- The Transito officer will present you with a “boleta” assigning a court date to confirm responsibility for the accident. We can provide legal assistance with an experienced attorney for that hearing.
- If the car requires a tow truck, inform the emergency assistance operator where the vehicle must be taken.
- The company inspector will present his report to the insurance company. After we get a copy of this report, we will open a claim in our office and assist you with the repair of the vehicle.
